Cowards and Traitors

By Jim Parker

Now Available

On February 29, 1704, Reverend John Williams was marched into captivity and later wrote one of America’s first bestsellers. Three centuries on, his descendant argues that America is in captivity again - not to foreign soldiers, but to lies, manipulation, and the betrayal of everything the country claims to stand for. Cowards and Traitors is part reckoning, part blueprint. It refuses to let the reader off the hook, holds the powerful to the same standard we’d hold anyone else, and asks the one question nobody in power wants you asking: who actually benefits?

By Their Fruits: Southern Christians: Betraying Jesus for 180 Years

By Jim Parker

Now Available

An agnostic walks into American Christianity and finds himself defending Jesus to Christians. By Their Fruits makes an uncomfortable case: that there are two Christianities in America using the same book, and only one of them does what Jesus actually commanded - feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, care for the sick. Drawing a straight line across 180 years, Parker argues that the saying has come to outrank the doing. By their fruits ye shall know them - not by what you call yourself, but by what you do.

For Maya

By Jim Parker

Coming Soon

Where do you get your moral compass? Jim Parker gets his from Maya - a specific child, five generations from now, who will inherit every decision we make today and has no vote in any of it. For Maya is an invitation, not an argument. It takes the quiet decency you already feel - the door held, the stranger helped - and aims it forward. A book for anyone tired of being shouted at and ready to be asked a better question.

About Jim Parker

Jim Parker is an Army veteran and direct descendant of Reverend John Williams, the "Redeemed Captive of Deerfield," whose 1704 captivity narrative has inspired generations of Americans to speak truth to power. Drawing upon this profound family legacy and his own diverse experiences—from academia to the American heartland—Parker brings a unique perspective to our nation's current political challenges.

Throughout his analysis, Parker is guided by two foundational questions: "What would a patriot do?" and "What would a Christian do?" These twin lodestars illuminate his examination of the forces that shape American politics and society. His travels across the country and encounters with people from all walks of life have given him an intimate understanding of both our nation's enduring strengths and the toxic polarization that threatens our democratic institutions.

In this compelling analysis of contemporary American politics, Parker doesn't shy away from naming the sources of our dysfunction, nor does he hesitate to offer concrete solutions. His approach combines the unflinching honesty of his ancestor's captivity narrative with the practical wisdom gained from years of service to country and community. Parker's voice is that of someone who has earned the right to be heard—not through political posturing, but through genuine engagement with the American experience in all its complexity.

This is his first book.
